ABOUT THE RACE

The Pretoria leg of the SPAR Women’s Challenge has grown from humble beginnings to one of the world’s biggest road races. This challenge is the most popular and inclusive road race in South Africa, attracting the country’s top professional female athletes and thousands of recreational runners. The race began in 1996 with just 600 entrants racing along the University of Pretoria’s Groenkloof campus.

Today, more than 25 000 entrants from around Gauteng run through Centurion’s streets, starting at SuperSport Park Stadium, looping back along a 5km and 10km route. Participants include Olympians, top age-group competitors, and thousands who run for charity and to achieve their own personal goals. An estimated 15 000 spectators turn out in support of the event, along with hundreds of print and broadcast media.

The SPAR Women’s Challenge is the premier event of the Gauteng North road running calendar. The Pretoria race is a key part of the SPAR Grand Prix series – the only competition of its kind in South African road running. The Grand Prix series allows the country's most outstanding female runners to score points across five SPAR Women’s Challenge 10km races and be eligible for cash prizes and other rewards.

HOW TO ENTER

ENTER AT A
PARTICIPATING SPAR STORE

When entering at selected SPAR stores your will receive your race number, one-size-fits-all t-shirt, foam peak cap and a copy of My Race magazine after handing in your entry form in-store. Click on the icon above to download the in-store entry venues. Enter early to avoid disappointment.

ONLINE

Please bring your proof of payment to collect your race number, t-shirt, foam peak cap and My Race magazine at SuperSport Park in Centurion from 30 July 2018 – 3 August 2018 between 10h00 and 18h00 or on race day from 08h00 to 12h00. DO NOT COLLECT FROM SPAR STORES FOR ONLINE ENTRIES. An admin fee will be applicable for online entries.

Limited to 25 000 entries. Pre-entries will close on 22 July 2018 at 20h00.
Late entries will still be available at SuperSport Park from 30 July 2018 – 3 August 2018 between 10h00 and 18h00, if available. Goodie bags and medals are handed out on Race Day once you have crossed the finish line.

To be eligible for the Prize, you must visit the Suzuki stand at Supersport Park on race day 4 August 2018. View their range of cars and collect and complete a lucky draw ticket, place one ticket in the lucky draw container during the competition period and keep the other lucky draw number as proof of entering the competition. You must be present at the prize giving on 4 August 2018 at 16h00 to be eligible to win the Prize.
